Other than the obvious that the acoustic/electric can be plugged in. If it were unplugged would it sound the same as a regular acoustic guitar? In other words, if I had an acoustic guitar and the same model of the guitar came out as acoustic/electric would they sound/play the same unplugged?

I believe theres acoustic/electric and electric/acoustic. I’ll explain both. Acoustic/electric is obviously and acoustic guitar FIRST and has electric guitar capabilites as a few added perks, so it will sound the same as a similar ’straight up acoustic’ guitar. It won’t, however have the same power or distortion capabilities as an electric guitar when u plug it in. Electric/acoustic is also known as a ‘hollowbody’, its and electric guitar FIRST, so it will have more presence when plugged in and has the access to the higher frets, but doesn’t sound as good unplugged as an acoustic. hope i helped :) James

they are the same guitar, the only difference is that acoustic/electric has a pickup, jack, etc. They will sound the same acoustically Wesley
