What type of guitar should I start with?
Buhdumchh asked:
I’m brand new at guitar and know almost nothing about it - I’m planning to start lessons soon. I was wondering what the differences between electric and acoustic guitar are, and as a beginner, which do you think is best to start with?

one with strings is good.
gibson
it all depends on what kind of style you want to play when it comes to acoustic and electric.
The main difference between acoustics and electrics is that acoustics are hollow and most of the time don’t have a pickup, whereas electrics are solid-body most of the time and all have pickups.
If you’re a beginner the price shouldn’t matter either. if you can get a nice guitar/amp as a beginner, I don’t see why not. It’ll be a great thing to learn on and it will teach you to take care of a guitar.
I would recommend signing up on UG (www.ultimate-guitar.com) and asking them some stuff
im a beginer too! and im getting a guitar im soo siked
acoustic; your hand fingers and wrists gain more strength from it;
i would say an accoustic i have an accoustic and its easier than an electric i am a beginner to and i think that accoustic is easier and less louder i got yamaha because they said that its th best quality and i would say that get the guitar thats a set that comes with the guitar case and the pick and the strap and the digital tuner and the cd and the extra strings thats the one i got and its great because i saved a lot of money also ps it was only 160$!!!!! it was such a great deal i didnt by it online i baught it in person i woud suggest that also make sure your getting the fairest deal and buy a beginner book i got one of the easy ones for children it showed me how to play all the courds and everything it was great! well best of luck! and make sure you commit yourself of never giving up im kinda on the string on giving up but i promised my parents i wouldnt i actually thought it would be easier but its very difficult!!!
it’ll mean a lot if you chose me as best answer!!!
sincerely, been there done that
i started with an electric and an acoustic i had both in my house, but if you want something a little easy to play I would suggest and electric guitar because the fret board is more narrow and the strings are easier to push down and not as brutal on your fingers. if you don’t care about how hard or easy it’ll be to play i recommend an acoustic i just like the way acoustics sound better. I have an Ovation acoustic electric I’m pretty sure, I’d recommend that for an acoustic. My electric is actually an old guitar but still love Fenders so those are my 2 recommendations.
Well I started out with accoustic
but only because that’s what I like hearing.
I don’t think either electric or accoustic is easier so it really just depends on what kind of music you want to make. However cost wise getting a mid-range accoustic is probably going to be much cheaper than an electic+ amp+ leads.
Hope that helped your decision, have a super dodoper day
