What size guitar strings for heavy metal playing?
justagirl asked:
I have a Schecter C1 and like to play heavy music. I have not yet bought strings for this guitar. What size and kind are the best?

definitely 11 gauge strings. i use them and they sound great as well as keep my callouses nice and rough.
Aah, my specialty. First off, you have to choose a brand. My preference: Ernie Ball ( you can choose whichever you want though). There are a couple that you might like. First are the Ernie Ball Not Even Slinkies< which are a set of strings with thicknesses ranging from .12 to .52. ( that means you get a nice deep sound with awesome highs.) The only problem with those are the upper strings are thick and therefore hard to bend. A solution to this is what I use: The Ernie Ball Slinky Top, Heavy Bottom. A mix between Regular Slinkys ( standard) and Not Even Slinkys. The top strings are thin which makes them easy to bend, but the bottom strings are thick to give you the deep notes.
These strings can be found at pretty much any guitar store for about 5 bucks, I hope this answered your question, and here are the links to the strings.
