What should I learn to play with my guitar?

Hi there. I’m pretty much a novice when it comes to playing a guitar, so I’m wondering what exactly I should learn. I can play simple power chords, and a few chords. I’ve learned a few tabs, but I just don’t seem to be getting much out of practicing. Is there anything I should specifically try to practice on? Thanks.
