If you were to make a makeshift guitar what shape would you make the inside cavity in order to get a nice, loud, full sound (would you use a rectangular box, a bowl, a can) or is there something better?

  1. Mr. HELPFULL says:

Use something with a large inner surface area. That way the sound is amplified and sounds very nice. You’ll notice that some guitars have wooden blocks placed along the inside. This is to increase the inner surface area. Depends upon you what you want to use. But remember larger inner surface area better sound.

    Hope i was helpful

For just maximum volume, use a cone!

Resonator guitars (aka “national” guitars) use a cone inside the body to give a loud sound un-amplified.

The traditional shape of a guitar body is to give a balanced sound across the frequency range of the guitar - different shapes give different tone.

You also need good guitar strings - the heavier, the louder… but you’ll need a strong guitar neck!
