What kind of a guitar would a guitar teacher prefer to teach me with?
wisdom tooth asked:
Im looking to get a guitar mainly because of the passion i have for the instrument. Im wondering if i do end up getting lessons, what kind of guitar would my teacher prefer to teach me on. Meaning if it was up to the teacher, what would he have me buy so its easier for me to learn on. Electric or Acoustic? thanks alot!

Have you thought of asking advice from a guitar player or teacher ?
Electric is easier for beginners and then usually you would move on to acoustic. I would start with a beginner’s electric pack and learn from that initially. You should not have to get lessons to learn the guitar. What I did was I got a song book with beginner songs and a CD to go with it. I ended up later getting an acoustic. If you want to get lessons then I doubt he would make you buy a different guitar. But go with what ever instrument you would prefer (electric or acoustic).
It depends on the teacher. No guitar is best, however, most people start on an steel string acoustic (not a classical) because it is simpler than an electric guitar because you don’t need to plug it in.
I bet the best guitar for you would be the one that suits the style of music you would like to play.
Alright champ, the main thing to understand here is that your guitar teacher is not gonna care what guitar you’re using, the more important thing to keep in mind is what style of guitar you want to learn. If you want to learn acoustic, get one. obviously if you want to learn electric, get one. Theres no rules in guitar playing, do whatever the fuck you want.
haha this depends on which teacher you are learning with.
and actually electric and acoustic are really different. plus, there’re 2 main kinds of electric guitars: bass/ lead. i advice you to check up some videos on youtube and decide on which type of guitar playing you’re interested in, and then find a suitable teacher.
why let the teacher decide on which guitar you should play?
it really depend on the teacher. what ever you do, don’t get a first act, after a couple months, you’ll end up throwing it. don’t get one from a grocery store, a music store would be best. if you want a cheap , good quality electric guitar go with these, (of course you would need an amp) be sure to read the customer reveiws to. i have the fourth one down, the fender with the 10 watt amp. if you want an acoustic, a great company is epiphone, taylor, and gibson. although gibsons do cost a lot. they are all great. the cheapest gibson would be like 400$ for the electric guitar the melody maker. but if you want a gibson, that will last long, go for it!
good luck and hope this helps.!!
I recommend that you learn the acoustic
first of it is a little more challenging
However, most teachers prefer the acoustic
This will teach you much more and when you pick up the electric it will be easier to play
Well Good Luck
