O_O ; asked:

I need one for my guitar class, but I want an electric acoustic. The problem with that is, I don’t know the average depth so I don’t know if it will be loud enough since I’m orderign off the internet.

There is no “average”, but the standard dreadnaught body is around 4 1/4 deep. The Ibanez AE series and similar bodies are only about 2 3/4″ deep. Check out the Washburn D10SCE. Full body, solid top, good pick-up. $250 with a case.

About 4 1/2 to 5 inches for acoustic electric I know I measured mine for this answer, just make sure that’s it’s not just for electric otherwise it will be way too small !!!!!!!!

    Standard/traditional Acoustic Guitar, about 4″.

Acoustic guitar and electric acoustic guitars (traditional shape) will sound the same when not amplified. When you plug in an electric acoustic guitar, you can make it as loud as your amplifier will go. Be sure to check out amplifiers, as there are ones specifically made for electric acoustics (sound a bit richer). Also there are some electric acoustics that have composite (plastic) backs that aren’t as loud as a traditional acoustic guitar when not amplified, but if you are going to plug in all the time it wont matter. There is also a removable pickup you can get for acoustic guitars that you attach “in the hole”. It wont sound as nice as a guitar that has the pickups built-in, but it is an option if you are stuck on a guitar and it doesn’t have an electric option. Hope this helps.
