What is the difference between a studio electric guitar and a regular electric guitar?
Andrew I asked:
im deciding on my second guitar and im looking and the cheaper ones are “studio” models but the expensive 3,000 dollar ones are the “traditional”……whats the difference?

Almost nothing. Probably different pickups… maybe cosmetically a little different too, like a nice binding.
For $3000, I recommend PRS. Adam D
Must be talking about the Gibson Les Paul.
The only real difference between the studio and the more expensive “traditional” Les Pauls are strictly cosmetic. The most obvious details are the lack of binding on the studio models. They also do not use the high quality maple top or the same high dollar finishes as the upper end models. They do play and sound essentially the same.
You can get a top of the line “traditional” Epiphone Les Paul for about the same price as the basic Gibson studio Les Paul. There are many who would prefer the top of the line “Epi” as opposed to the studio ‘Paul.
Play them both at your local dealer and then decide. While you are there try an Ibanez S series or some other instruments. Very high quality without the price. Why pay so much for a name when there are thousands of other instruments that play just as well for a fraction of the cost? gtarczar
I wouldn’t buy a 3000 dollar get-box. Just go to a music store and play around only you can say what you like, myself I enjoy Dean. Dean makes a good guitar for pretty cheap Some of the best start at 200-270 all you gotta do is keep it well maintained. Joshua H
Its just marketing and different designing and quality Alex
