I am planning to buy an electric guitar kit on ebay from a US seller.
What is the Canadian Customs duty/tax to import an ELECTRIC GUITAR KIT from the US?
but it’s a guitar kit, not a complete guitar. and doesn’t qualify to be a guitar.
Still, I’ll try calling them. Thanks for the link.

  1. neoplop says:

You will pay GST (5%) and PST (you don’t specify your province), plus a brokerage fee to the shipping company for clearing customs for you (usually $5-$30).

As far as duty is concerned, it depends on the country of manufacture of the goods. The complete canada Customs Tariff will have more details:

Electric guitars are dutiable at 6%, don’t know about the amp and speaker parts, though.
