electric guitar, the guitars stings are easier to play and hold down.

You can learn equally well on either electric or acoustic so consider the music you want to be able to play and get the guitar that’s most appropriate for that kind of music. That will keep you motivated.

Despite what the two before me have said I’d HIGHLY recommend starting on acoustic no matter what kind of music you plan on learning in the future.
This is the greatest mistake I had starting out when I chose an Electric as my first instrument. Since both Electric and Acoustic are nearly identical in terms of playing switching to Electric will be MUCH easier after practicing on an acoustic.
The reason is this, Acoustic strings are harder to press down and are much thicker compared to the strings used on an electric guitar so while this may scare a bunch people away it actually helps later on. Think of the thicker strings as strength training for the future, seeing as how all higher end guitars are fairly easy to play whether electric or acoustic.
Plus you get used to the pain and strain fairly quickly if you dedicate yourself and practice a lot.
With the acoustic as a start your fingers will be way more conditioned and ready to take on higher end guitars and the lighter stringed Electric guitars.
Plus in terms of music type you’ll find if you search youtube, there are acoustic renditions for just about any kinda of song.
Acoustics are widely available in just about any music store you go to by the way so I doubt you’ll have trouble finding them over in your country.
Good Luck I hope this helps and Happy Guitar-ing! jrunknjrowzy
