No question, get an Epiphone Les Paul Junior! spongebobboy
Honestly every guitar that you play should be in question. A name truly means nothing as guitars are “living” objects. If a good guitar isnt properly cared for, it will not play well. If its cared for and was built well then it has a shot at being a good guitar for you. You should narrow it down. Acoustic or electric, both maybe? What style of music will you be playing (although a guitar doesnt dictate the type of music you can make with it)? Price Range?
The most, most, most, important thing in buying a guitar is buying one that will make you want to pick it up again and again. You should walk by your guitar case and feel the need to play it if only for a few minutes. Remember brand names mean little to nothing and dont buy a guitar that you havnt held in your hands. Rob B
It honestly doesn’t matter which brand guitar you get if you are simply learning.
But if a few good style guitars are
ibanez (rg120 is a good series)
squier (buy the more expensive ones, they tend to not lose sound as fast)
and Dean for 100 something bucks has a nice heavy sound
Epiphone (the starter packs are actually really great)
Of all of them, I would take a pick somewhere between epiphone and ibanez. both seem to last longer and have better sound. Dorian V
There is not such things as the best beginner guitar or the best brand of guitar to get, just whether you like the guitar you are buying or holding. It would definitely be fun and easier to learn when you are playing/learning on a guitar that you love. choosing a guitar should be done by yourselves, look at all the different guitar that are within your personal budget, see if you like the looks of the guitar that you are targeting to buy. If you like it and its within your budget, buy it by all means.
Never buy a guitar just solely by because its of a famous brand and than ends up not playing or practising with it because you find that you do not like how the guitar looks or feel. A guitar that is just lying at the corner of your rooms would never makes you into a good guitar player no matter how “branded” your guitar is. A guitar that is not being use would become just another pieces of junk and a waste of hard earn money to you!

Go to your local music store, find the right guitar for you….not the coolest looking or the one with the whammy bar, find the one that fits you. Guitars are like shoes….don’t ever buy one unless you’ve tried it on to see if it fits, put some money down on it and pay it off a little at a time. Don’t settle on a “cheap” guitar because its what you can afford at the time. When you finally pick up your guitar it will be “the one” and you will be a happy camper. If you buy the cheap guitar on the spot you will be happy for a little while but then will be buying another guitar in a matter of months. When you go to trade in your used guitar it will be worth nothing compared to what you payed for it. John
I would recommend a fender squire stratocaster. Its a very inexpensive guitar. It’s a lot of peoples first guitar because if your not sure you want to spend the money on nice guitars, amps, and accessories. If you get really into, then you’ll want to get nicer things. If you have a little extra money then theres so many different choices and it really depends on your music. My personal favorite guitar is my 1985 Fender Stratocaster because of its sound. It can play anything from rock to metal, blues to reggae and pretty much everything. But to start I would get a Squire and then if you get into it, I guarantee that you’ll be getting nicer things.
I’ve been playing guitar for a while and Fender makes great guitars as does Gibson. However Gibsons get really expensive really quick. Also if you like metal i recommend the Kirk Hammett signiture. The KH-202 is a cheap metal guitar and sounds really nice for metal, especially metallica (go figure). Conor
