I would download this free application: basically what this app does is every time you search for a product on google/yahoo/bing, it will automatically search the whole internet for the cheapest price of what you are looking for. I haven’t personally tried it, but I’ve looked at all the reviews and they say it’s a great deal for beginners.

What ever you do, don’t just go out and find a guitar at Walmart or Costco. They’re low quality, you’ll have to tune it constantly, it will sound bad, it’s just not worth it.
You can always head over to your local music store and ask an employee for help. I like Guitar Center if you have any around you. On their website you can look at the guitar, sort by price, and check any reviews they have. In my sources I’ve got a link to their electric guitars sorted by price. The Squier Bullet Electric Guitar looks like a good choice for $120, but it’s not going to come with the other things that you might want. Tom
