I am looking to buy new guitar humbuckers to replace the ones that came with my Epiphone Les Paul. I play just overall rock and hard rock music so I was wondering which humbuckers would be the best to get. I’ve heard EMG’s and Dimarzios are good, but I’m not totally sure about any of this. Also, I don’t know if it matters or not, but my guitar has chrome hardware. Thanks, any answers are appreciated.

The EMGs tend to be too “metal” for rock. I had the benefit of playing both (when I was a musician). Dimarzios are the best “rock” pickups depending on what you buy. Of course…it’s been over 5 years since I stopped playing so things might have changed. Theneelster

I like Seymour Duncans. They’re a bit pricey but worth every penny. I have them on my Fender Tele. I’ve heard EMGs are good but I’ve never tried them. Personally I recommend Seymours, everyone who plays my Tele remarks on how great the humbuckers sound on it. I say make the investment in a good set of SDs..they’ll serve you well. Great highs, lows, and mids. By the way the color of your hardware doesn’t affect the sound. PrettyInPunkkk

You’re gonna buy expensive pickups for a Chinese Epi? Hey dude, are you gonna go put Hartmann Porsche wheels on your 2001 Kia Sephia? Neither make a lot of sense.

Just buy some GFS Humbuckers. They have a whole line of them. They sound GREAT and they are affordable.

See? That way you can save your money for a big boy guitar! gαɳjα мαɳ ɳεαℓ αт тнε wнεεℓ ♫
