I’m just a beginner and have signed up for a week of guitar camp. I won’t make it with metal strings on my guitar for 7 full days. Ouch! Need to toughen my fingers fast! Would another guitar with plastic strings help as a stepping stone? Thanks.

Now please, this really seems not to be a pickup or feedback problem. It almost certainly is a grounding/electricity problem. I need to confirm this. When i play, no guitar sound comes from the amp, just the loud buzz. It eases down when i remove my fingers from the strings or any other metal parts of the guitar but still no guitar sound. When i touch these parts its hummmmmmm…. Its really annoying.

Basically, i have an acoustic guitar, but the strings i have bought do not have a ball on them.

The bridge of my guitar has pegs on it, and i’m wondering how to fasten these strings?

I have looked at videos, but either all the strings have balls on, or the guitar doesnt have pegs.

Should i just buy some new strings?
Thanks.

-Certain type of guitar?
-Strings?
-Effects pedals?

And what qualifies that music as ’surf rock’? Are there certain patterns to follow?

Any good bands in this catagory I should check out?

If anybody has experience with that genre, please help me out!

Thanks!

I can’t seem to get my chords to ring well using finger picking although each string rings right by itself. I am wondering if this problem might be solved if I used a guitar pick. Also perhaps it could be a problem with my guitar or strings (its an old guitar)?

I’m trying to get the three thinnest strings out of my electric guitar, and I keep trying to push them out the back, but whenever I do they just bend. I had no problems getting the three thickest guitar strings out, but I’ve tried everything with these three.
