How do guitar companies determine thicknesses for guitar picks?
John A asked:
How do guitar companies determine how thick they make guitar picks? When I look at some picks they’re some random obscure number like 1.15mm or .88mm. Thanks
Yeah my favorite pick is a Dunlop nylon .88.

What size guitar picks do you recommend for a beginner?
Mee:) asked:
I haven’t start yet. And it’s a 6-string acoustic. My teacher said i need anywhere from 0.40mm-0.60mm. B/c any bigger is too loud for class and he said somethin about the smaller ones. Buut i don’t have to listen to his rules when i’m outside of school and practicing on my own guitar, so i might buy some other picks and keep my other ones in my locker in school.

Where can I buy a bunch of guitar picks for a good price?
The Green Eyed GIrl asked:
I’m looking for a great amount of guitar picks, but i don’t know where to find them for a good price. I don’t really want just solid colors, maybe a few multi colored ones too. Any one know of any such place?

I am a beginning guitarist and I was looking for some guitar picks. I found some Fender picks, but one says HEAVY and the other says LIGHT. What’s the difference? Do they make different sounds? I play classic rock and was wondering which would be right for me. Thanks!
