Are Steel or Nylon strings better for an Acoustic-Electric Guitar?

I am planning on getting an Acoustic-Electric Guitar. I already have a Steel string guitar. I have built up a good amount of calisus on my fingers, but what would sound better and which are better on an Acoustic-Electric Guitar?

How to get prepared for a guitar?

I am planning to get a guitar. I have Guitar Hero 3 and I use it a lot. I’m guessing my fingers are very strong because I can do most songs on hard and expert. Does this help on playing a real acoustic guitar? And what else can I do to get prepared for a guitar? One more question. Should I get an electric guitar after knowing how to do acoustic?

i hears when you play guitar eventually you develop calluses on your finders so when you put your fingers on the strngs your fingers dont hurt. do the calluses look or feel nasty? give any information about that if you can.
another question.. do they go away if you dont play guitar long enough?
