Can I learn to play the guitar from Youtube videos?
8 asked:
How effective would this be? I’ve just been looking at peoples’ guitar lessons from certain songs. Some of them look pretty hard; like you need fast fingers. I have a guitar and I’m slowly learning.

How can I build up calluses on my fingers for guitar?
epitome of innocence asked:
When I do have time to play, I don’t ever want to put my guitar down! But my fingers still hurt from yesterday. How can I build up calluses faster? And hand strength, because bar chords hurt my hands.

When you start to play guitar, are your fingertips supposed to ‘crack’?
Kupcake asked:
I’ve started to play guitar a while ago and I get that you need to develop callouses etc. but are your fingers supposed to crack? Because the tips of mine where I press the strings down onto the frets are quite literally cracked. What can I do to like.. heal it and does every guitar players’ fingers’ crack????
Steel stringed acoustic guitar - not the indents, its just like the skin on my fingertips has cracks in it :S If that makes sense to you

How can I improve my chord transitions on guitar?
Spotted Decor asked:
So I started playing acoustic guitar about 2 weeks ago.
I know how to play my G, D, and C major chords and my E minor chord.
My problem is I have trouble transitioning between them. Any tips to help my transitions and make them smoother and gradually help my transitions be quicker?
I always have to stop and place my fingers one-by-one when I play most of these chords and try to transition.
Yeah, I’ve been practicing ALOT since I got my guitar.

How long do I need to play acoustic guitar before my fingers stop to hurt so much?
♪♫band_geek♫♪ asked:
So I’ve had an acoustic guitar for a few years now and I’m trying to play it. I actually understand how to tune it and how to read music (I didn’t in the 5th and 6th grade). I’ve heard that you have top keep playing for your fingers to build calluses and to stop hurting. For this to happen, how long should I practice every day and how long until my fingers stop to hurt?
