How not to develop calluses when playing guitar?
pandora asked:
I just started playing guitar. My fingers are almost bleeding. I’ve heard from different people that with time you’ll develop calluses. Are there any covers for the fingertips or something so my fingers don’t hurt and don’t get calluses?

What size guitar is right for a smaller size girl?
XoXo asked:
I know like 28 inches or something is the standard size for an acoustic guitar. But I know that can’t be very comfortable for a small person, with short fingers. =) So does anyone know what size acoustic guitar would be perfect for me. I have a very small frame.

Hi, I have just started playing guitar. I am just working on chords and am having a lot of difficulty. I have small fingers and I am having a hard time stretching my fingers that far. Does anyone have any tips on how to play chords better? Actually any guitar tips would be fantastic because I am teaching myself. 10 points to the best answer. Thanks!

What is the best way to strengthen fingers for guitar playing?
Sam asked:
I have been playing guitar for over 5 years. Recently, I got a segull acoustic guitar which i like quite a bit. The only problems ive had are with bar chords, which have been more difficult to do than on my electric guitar. Any suggestions for makeing clearer guitar bar chords would be great (such as what string gauges to use)

What are good guitar exercises to start playing Metal solos?
Derek asked:
I’ve been playing guitar for 2 1/2 years and I can play a lot metal riffs but when I get to the solos I can do any thing so what are good exercises to improve my fingers in that area. I also struggle with songs that have intricate rhythms, particulary megadeth songs. I know minor pentatonic, major and minor harmonic and minor melodic scales. I play mostly thrash metal songs.

Is there anything that can help speed up the toughening of left fingers when learning guitar?
Louise asked:
I’m just a beginner and have signed up for a week of guitar camp. I won’t make it with metal strings on my guitar for 7 full days. Ouch! Need to toughen my fingers fast! Would another guitar with plastic strings help as a stepping stone? Thanks.

Why does my guitar amp Hum really loudly when its power is on and i touch the guitar strings or any screws?
thepyrotechnician asked:
Now please, this really seems not to be a pickup or feedback problem. It almost certainly is a grounding/electricity problem. I need to confirm this. When i play, no guitar sound comes from the amp, just the loud buzz. It eases down when i remove my fingers from the strings or any other metal parts of the guitar but still no guitar sound. When i touch these parts its hummmmmmm…. Its really annoying.
