I just bought my guitar yesterday and I just broke a string. Does anyone know any good guitar strings a beginner should use? Also I was tuning my guitar when it broke. I don’t really know if i got it too tight or not. Thank you for your help.

I have a cousin who has a very nice, bright, very light, and ULTRA flexible set of strings on his telecaster. It sounds very very good and it fits MY PLAYING STYLE (for those who hate on light strings) perfectly. Unfortunately, he purchased the guitar used and we have no idea of what gauge of strings were used on his electric guitar. Can someone please help?

Brand names please. I’m learning guitar, and the new string set I’ve used has busted within a few days, as opposed to the string that came with the guitar, which busted after 52 days. (30 minutes playtime per day roughly.) Yeah I know the strings are cheap that come with guitar packs, but I want to know of strings that don’t break easily. Sound isn’t as important, since I am just learning.

This is really just out of curiosity that me and a friend have been wondering. Not such as taking a bass pickup and slapping it on a guitar. More like taking a guitar and adding a bass bridge, or nut made for guitar string but with only four slots like a bass, and then stringing in only four strings. I love playion guitar more, but i love bass guitar tone. Im just wondering if this could be a good idea, bad idea, or could go either way.

I need to change the E-String (1st) on my electric guitar, but I’m worried about what will happen if I put acoustic strings on it. Do they perform differently? Will it make my electric sound weird? Will the pickups not, well, pick up the vibrations from it?
