I’d begin by learning some basic power chords and just how to pick. Then begin learning really simple songs. I’m not sure what kind of music you’re into, but simple punk songs (ie: Green Day) are great for starting because they’re often simple to play but you’ll improve from learning them. The Crowing

You can learn some basic chords and how to pick. Also getting your fingers used to playig is helpful. You can start out with spider excercises…..I think that’s what they’re called. It’s like each finger on your left hand gets put on a different fret. Index-1st middle-2nd ring-3rd pinky-4th. You play them individually and just keep moving up. Search up some videos on YouTube like this one. Start off slow and in a week or two you’ll get faster and faster. It’s a good warm up and it prepares your fingers. Like one person already said, Greenday has TONS of easy songs that are fun to play. I still like playing good riddance on acoustic. Ben

start with the electric, it’s easier to press the frets down
if you want to, you can make it even easier to use by buying thinner strings (it sounds like it hurts more but it doesn’t)
start learning the basic notes and do a little bit of theory
then go on to easy chords
then go play some easier songs such as Holiday (Green Day) or Enter Sandman (Metallica)
then you can go on and play whatever is easy enough for you Steven
