No it does not cost you. By the way you’re not using wifi when you’re competing online. You are using your own wireless router.

Hammy is correct. To play online is free. However, one wrong is that you are using Wi-Fi. You’re wireless router emits a Wi-Fi signal that your Wii connects too.

In fact, I was just playing Guitar Hero 3 on my Nintendo Wii at Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection a few minutes ago.
I still have my Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector plugged into my laptop as a matter of fact.

No. Just you have to have to be connected to the internet which might cost you money if you dont have wifi but only a little. If you have the LanAdapter or the wifi connector then your ok!
