I wanna buy an acoustic clasical guitar? How can i tel if its good?
Kathy asked:
I have a very old guitar which is okay, i guess. It’s older than me and it’s a steel guitar, and i wanna buy a new classical guitar because i like the softer sound of it. I wanna buy one thats about 200, (because my parents might trip if it’s too much). But i don’t know what brands are good or how to tell about the quality and suff. Help please?

take someone with u who knows what there doing
You aren’t going to find anything that “good” for 200 dollars lol. Taylor, Ovation, Mitchell, these are all good. Of course, I don’t play classical guitar but I don’t see why their classical guitars would be bad.
Buy what feels comfortable to your body and hands. Of course, you Must love the sound. It should, above all, be pleasing to your ear and have a feel that you like. The sky is the limit (probably) on what you can spend for a good classical guitar. So, just get what makes you comfortable for now. Down the road, when you are a virtuoso, you can spend a few thousand without a second thought!
There is not much quality control in your price range so most brands are a bit hit and miss. Take somebody with you to play it and make sure the action is not too high which is the main problem on cheaper classical guitars.
Try the Suzuki brand. I played one in a shop the other day and was very surprised. It was only $100 but it was VERY good. I was told they only make one model of classical guitar.
