I have been told that shipping something valuable by parcel post is a bad idea, and after buying a guitar off of ebay, i hope i dont regret having it shipped by parcel post. Also, I had it shipped from florida to texas and it shipped out last wednesday and is now monday: could i expect it wednesday? Thanks for any replies.

i work for the usps. (i’m a carrier tho, not a clerk. i.e. mailman). parcel post is safe, but something of value you should always pay the extra few bucks and have it insured. that way if something does happen to it, you can get your money back. parcel post is the cheapest/slowest method. for that distance, it probably will take 4-7 business days. in future, ship priority (a little more cost, but 2-3 days shipping). again, insure it. also, for a couple bucks more, you can have it sent with a confirmation of delivery. that way it is tracked from start to finish, and with the tracking no. you can go online and see its progress from beginning to end on usps.com.

    hope this helps. good luck.
