I will be moving cross-country and I have an acoustic guitar with a hardshell case. I know that I’m allowed check it as baggage at the airport, but will my guitar be in one piece when I get to my destination? I don’t trust the TSA and/or the baggage handlers with my acoustic! Help!

If that is the case, pack it real secure, and send it to your new address via UPS, or Fed-Ex

  2. Brandon B says:

make sure its packed up as “fragile” and you put padding all around the guitar

  3. ibanchief says:

Hey man, just ask the check-in staff for it to be handled as fragile items. Worse case scenario, bring it on board with you.

  4. Tropicales says:

You can bring it on the plane with you as a personal item along with your carry-on.
Check your airline regulations for any restrictions/specifications as each airline MAY vary in their discretions.

You have to take it on board, because they treat the baggage like crap. It should be pretty safe for your guitar, not so for the passengers if it falls on their head or something.
