How do you know what fingers to use when reading guitar tab?

    The reason most guitar tabs do not tell you what fingers to use is because its up to you to see what is most comftorble for you. As for the brackets around the number, i just ignore them and it doesnt seem to change anything.

    0h2p0- means to hit 0 hold 2 and pull 0

    Depending on which string in the tab the 0h2p0 is on, it means that you pluck the string by itself then “h”ammer down on the “2″nd fret and then “p”ull off back to an open string and pluck it.

    The 2 with parenthesis I believe is harmonic, meaning you rest your finger lightly on the second fret and pluck the string. If you do it right it will make a high pitched ring. I could be wrong about the harmonic part though
