I have a michael kelley hex deluxe with a floyd rose locking tremolo system that is currently set for standard tuning with the coils and string gauge. I just need to know how exactly to set everything on my guitar to switch it over to drop c tuning.

    Hello there,

    Maybe this guide will help.

This isn’t gonna be easy. The only realistic way i can think of to do it would be to block the tremelo, tighten the springs, then drop it to the C tuning. If you are gonna leave it there then i would take it to your local guitar dealer and have them set it up. There’s quite a bit of difference in string tension between standard tuning and drop C tuning and your tremelo is gonna go nuts when you change the tension. One other way would be to get a higher gauge of string than your using right now, they actually make strings specifically for drop tunings. This will help keep the tension on your tremelo when you drop tune it.+ But with the greater tension of these strings, and a floating tremelo, you won’t be able to go back to standard tuning without changing the strings back to your previous gauge.
