Now, I’m 12 and I want to play the guitar. I’m a singer, so I guess learning how to play the guitar will fit nicely with the singing part. Anyways, I can’t pay for anything. Like lessons, books, and stuff like that. On my 13th birthday, I’m getting a guitar. So the only thing I have to work with is the guitar and the computer. What website is best for learning how to play the acoustic guitar?

Im assuming you have access to internet. There are a lot of tutorials and videos available online. As you want to back up your vocals with guitar the best place to start is to learn to read chord charts.
Then learn the basic Major chords and minor (in open position).

If you are absolutely new to he guitar yoll have to work o your finger strength. Try playing chromatic notes with your fingers. frets 1234 on 6th string then 5th to the one and then back up. Keep doing this until you get a decent tone and no buzzing.

Then start with chords pick one chord at a time and play each string seperately. This will help your right hand.

One you learn your first chord play different rythms eg: up, down up down down with free wrist motion…

you know what get hold of a good website..!

To motivate you I started playing when I was 13..!! too im a classical guitarist in college now…if you intend on learning classical DONT follow any online methods get an actual instructor. I spend so much time rectifying my mistakes bad habbits from “youtube lessons” lol.. Ralf S
