Ryan asked:

I would like my guitar to sound more like Billie Joe armstrongs guitar. I only have the guitar and the amp is there anything else I could buy? If so what? If not then what could I do to my guitar and amp?

Overdrive pedal and maybe you should leave it out in the rain so that it sounds like its ruined. OH! You should also ignore any tips about learning scales. Can’t_reach_this_itch!

practice, it’s probably how your playing and not the equipment itself
It’s also worth noting acoustics and production quality of any recordings you hear will never sound exactly like they do when played live Octevio

In addition to the guitar and amp, you should probably get an overdrive/distortion pedal. Billie Joe’s guitar always has a thick, heavy, crunchy distortion. He gets it from his Marshall amp I believe, but you’ll probably want to get a good pedal for distortion. The MI Audio Crunch Box is a really good versatile distortion pedal that mimics that sound of Marshall amp distortion, so that might get you close. TSL

as other posters i would suggest a pedal the boss ds-1 is great and i bought mine for 65 bucks but if ur not willing to get one use these settings on ur amp on the treble pickup:
    drive: on
    Drive: 8
    Mid: 6
    Bass: 7
    Treb: 10
hope tht helps but i really suggest u to get a pedal Jed K

It’s hard to make anything else sound like a P90. That’s why I bought a Les Paul Jr. A good tube amp is the key to good tones though. ddrum
