Can I learn to play the guitar from Youtube videos?

How effective would this be? I’ve just been looking at peoples’ guitar lessons from certain songs. Some of them look pretty hard; like you need fast fingers. I have a guitar and I’m slowly learning.

YES But your wasting a lot of time.they have 4 finger chords that do the same as the others.
Well first you need to learn the basics. Get a good beginners book (try amazon) and a good chord chart. Then try some of the youtube videos- they will be helpful.

It depends. If you learn one single note, then you have learned some on the guitar.
Learning is something that is ongoing.
I play piano quite well, most would probably say, but I have actually never felt that I’m operating at the level I could if I could get lessons.
start slowly and the speed will come eventually. Let’s face it, these guys were not born with speed.
no not really, ive been playing for around a year off and on and i started with chords, some finger picking, and power chords. haha i got adicted to guitar hero 3 and now i wanna play even more. guitar is a journey its like your building a f’n pyramid because until you learn the basics, its not very enjoyable. i’ve come to the point were i can forget about phsically playing and focus on the rythm and sound and its mindblowing now
