How long does it take to learn guitar?
My sister and I have been wanting to learn guitar for a year now…but we don’t know the best way to learn nor do we know how long it will take (because we both have testy patience). So my main question is if we stay dedicated to it, how long will it take to fully learn?

I have played piano for 6 years with a teacher and now I want to learn guitar on my own. Where do I start? Is there a really good book to get or website? I dont want to pay for a teacher!

I’m really wanting to learn guitar this summer in between semesters. I don’t really have the money for personal lessons, though. I’ve looked at the tablature online, and I’ve figured out how to read them. Is it possible for me to learn/teach myself guitar with these tabs?
What songs should i play to learn guitar?
I am teaching myself guitar… it’s not going great, i know the basic chords (C,D,E,A.Em,Am etc) but can’t really do bar chords. I can play a couple of songs but if somebody asked me to play something that they can sing to or whatever there is nothing. any ideas?
Also, what should i be doing to help myself learn faster? Should i start using a pic?

I had just decided to try and learn guitar, been wanting to for years but just now got the motivation.
I really dont have the time to go to guitar lessons with work and all, so was gonna try to learn from home maybe with a little help from the internet..

I took 8 lessons this summer so I know some basic stuff. The lessons were getting quite pricey, so I decided to drop them. =(
I am really passionate about learning and I was wondering if anyone has any experience on learning the guitar on their own. Are there any useful websites? Is it possible to learn it on your own? Would I be gaining more from my private lessons with an actual teacher?
